Green Drinks is a monthly networking event where people in the environmental field and the sustainably minded meet over drinks (alcoholic or non), usually in an informal setting to exchange ideas, find out who’s doing what and spread the word on what you're doing, find employment leads and make new friends and contacts.
Green Drinks is an international, self-organizing networking group and the Hudson Valley Green Drinks chapter officially launched in April of 2008.
Held at a different location around the Hudson Valley on the second Wednesday of each month (unless noted on the calendar), you’ll meet a mix from NGOs, academia, government, green business, green builders, alternative healthcare, organic farming, authors and artists all involved either professionally or personally in the environmental field. One goal is to have policy makers and planners hanging out monthly over a couple of drinks discussing local plans and concerns with developers, scientists and environmental engineers. It's amazing how a more informal setting can help with understanding positions and concerns.
Events are held from Kingston/Rhinebeck to the north to Beacon/Newburgh to the south. Events are held in locally owned establishments and each month it's held on the opposite side of the Hudson to give people a possible break when driving. You are encouraged to put "2nd Wednesday of each month - Green Drinks!" no matter where it's held on your calendar. Each city is within reasonable driving distance and if you car pool - even better!
Please be sure to bring lots of business cards to share and please, if you do indulge in an alcoholic beverage, always remember to drink responsibly.
Check the calendar to save the dates for future Hudson Valley Green Drinks, most 2nd Wednesdays (except where noted).
See you at a Hudson Valley Green Drinks event soon!

the basics (aka the really real fine print): Monthly networking sessions are open to anyone who is either in the related environmental fields, sustainably minded or anyone eco-curious. Each person is responsible for his/her own food and drink charges unless there's a Special Event which may include food and/or beverages - details will always be noted within the event's description. RSVPs are greatly appreciated so coordination with the location to ensure adequate space for the event can take place. RSVP mce@hvgreendrinks.org or call (845) 454-6410. (If you RSVP in advance, you'll even get a snazzy name tag - which we recycle and will have ready for you at your next HVGD event.) Most events are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month. Alas, organizing and hosting Green Drinks events costs money so admission is set at $5 plus a business card at the door.
Volunteer for a shift at the check-in door! Help out at the door for a 20 min shift checking in attendees and skip the $5 door fee for yourself. It'll give you an opportunity to meet the new arrivals first and then, when your shift is done, you can go find the people you want to further connect with. Email mce@hvgreendrinks.org or call (845) 454-6410.
And please, if you are going to drink alcohol always remember to drink responsibly. Car pool with a designated driver whenever possible.

If you would like to be added to an email list for event reminders, please feel free to fill out the form below. HVGD sends out a few reminders per month - one about two weeks before the next event, then the Sunday/Monday right before the event and again morning of as a LAST reminder! Then, there's the post-event newsletter that goes out about a day or two after.
